C20 Consultative Conference at Itanagar

VKIC Arunachal Pradesh Chapter organised the C20 consultative Conference on 22nd April at Banquet Hall Itanagar. More than 200 delegates representing CBOs, NGOs, representatives of Indegenious faith, cultural and charitable society, donyi polo trusts, intellectuals and distinguished personalities and social activists attended the conference and shared their views and recommended their point of view.

The agriculture sector of India in contemporary times faces two challenges. One, intensification of land use to raise food production for the rising population, and two, the challenges posed by natural resource degradation and climate change caused particularly by variable rainfall and extreme weather events.

Nyoyin-Nyokum- A Nyishi Custom of Worshipping Nature

Before an attempt is made on the concept of Nyishi custom of worshipping nature through puja or festivals like Nyoyin-Nyokum; it is necessary to focus on the religious belief of the Nishing (Nyishi). The Nyishi, who dwell in nature, believe in numerous Uyus (deities). This belief centres on spirits or deities of nature. All the performances of customary rites of Nyishi more or less relate to natural objects in Siichii and Nyedo i.e. earth and sky.

Report on VKIC Arunachal Pradesh Chapter

The Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture VKIC organise a meeting with  several eminent personalities and academicians at Itanagar on 25th October, 2015. It initiated the process of step forward in the direction of VKIC Arunachal Pradesh chapter.
 
The meeting started with mangalacharanam. Dr. Joram Begi speaking on the occasion welcomes everybody present there.

VKIC foundation day 2015

Chairman VKIC, Dipok Kr Barthakur, delivering the welcome address mentioned that this year is significant for VKIC as it the birth centenary year of Eknathji Ranade, the founding father of Vivekananda Kendra and Vivekananda Rock Memorial. His vision to establish a centre to study the culture of Northeast of India led to the inception of Vivekananda Institute of Culture (VKIC) in 1993.
